Monday through Thursday, including holidays
Shift times:
5:00 am – 3:00 pm (may vary)
Starting Pay:
$17.00 per hour plus shift differential for evenings, nights, and weekends

Responsibilities
Assist in selecting up to 2,500 pedigree birds daily by identifying gender, catching, scanning wing band number, and auditing market birds for wing bands (35%)
Identify and assign coop birds accurately (30%)
Maintain clean foot pans, sanitize selection breakroom, and inspect equipment for maintenance (15%)
Set up for selection: load empty coops, place catch frames, hang lights, set up scales and scanners, label coops, and dispose of dead birds (10%)
Other duties, such as moving birds between facilities or euthanizing weak/ill birds, may change or be added at any time (10%)
Requirements
At least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer, with no employment gaps >6 months in the past 36 months (18 months if laid off or caring for child/elder)
Must have lived within the United States
Rehire criteria: minimum 180‑day waiting period and no more than three previous Cobb/Tyson work periods
Priority consideration for internal applicants; prior agricultural or production experience preferred
Biosecurity & Animal Welfare
Must shower, change clothing and footwear before entering; no jewelry except medical ID or covered piercings
Sign agreement to avoid avian species and adhere to Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Guidelines
Physical Demands
Lift up to 50 lb regularly, up to 300 lb occasionally; stand majority of shift
Work on wet, slippery, hot, dry, dusty or cold surfaces
Use PPE: safety goggles/goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, footwear; N95 respirator when needed
Operate on farm vehicles and handle chemicals such as disinfectants and bleach
Apply safety policies: Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO, PPE, and risk mitigation
