Snoqualmie, WA Salary:
$4,653 - $5,398 Monthly (plus an additional 5% premium pay for employees working in King County or an on‑site 24/7 facility)
The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is accepting applications for a Maintenance Mechanic 1 to join our team to perform a variety of skilled trades.
Responsibilities
Perform minor repairs on building fixtures, plumbing, heating, laundry, kitchen equipment, motors, and electrical appliances.
Perform semi‑skilled work in carpentry, plumbing, steam fitting, electrical, mechanical and machinist work.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and other shop equipment as needed.
Assist in the fabrication of equipment and materials constructed in trade shops in accordance with project requirements.
Qualifications
Two years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work.
The ability to take action to learn and grow.
The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.
A current Washington State driver’s license.
Knowledge of practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in mechanical trades; safety precautions.
Ability to work from verbal descriptions, blueprints, construction drawings, plans, and sketches; estimate materials and time needed to complete the assigned job.
Ability to effectively communicate with management, peers, clients, and the public as required.
