Payroll Processor
to support weekly payroll operations for our hourly employee population.
Position Summary The Payroll Processor is responsible for executing accurate and timely weekly payroll, auditing timecards, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory requirements. This role directly partners with employees, supervisors, and leaders to facilitate smooth payroll operations, provide exceptional service, and maintain data integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Run weekly payroll for hourly staff in accordance with company deadlines and policies.
Audit electronic timecards for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with labor regulations.
Identify, research, and resolve timesheet exceptions or discrepancies.
Process retroactive payments, overtime, corrections, and payroll adjustments.
Collaborate with leaders and supervisors to validate hours and resolve issues.
Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
Partner with HR, Finance, and other internal teams on payroll-related inquiries or process improvements.
Basic Qualifications
2+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience, preferably handling weekly payroll for an hourly workforce.
Experience auditing timecards and reconciling payroll discrepancies.
Working knowledge of payroll regulations, overtime rules, and wage & hour laws.
Proficiency with payroll/timekeeping systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, UKG/Kronos, or similar).
Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and customer-service skills for working with employees and leaders.
High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a professional services or multi-location environment.
Familiarity with processing retro payments and complex payroll adjustments.
Intermediate skills in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
