ABOUT THE ROLE
A production technician is responsible for day-to-day operational activities in a fast-paced, highly automated, technical manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for autonomous setup, run, changeover and troubleshooting of multiple technologies on a production line, or multiple lines, with various types of low-tech and high-tech equipment. Serves as the subject matter expert, and can train others, which includes completing training documentation. The primary goal is to work safely with a focus on teamwork towards the reduction of downtime, as well as improving efficiency and upholding quality standards.
*This is a 12-hour, night shift position with a schedule rotation that allows for every other weekend off.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates personal and team accountability for safety, actively engages in employee-led safety initiatives and teams.
Monitor, maintain, and improve process and product quality
Maximize uptime, reduce scrap, and eliminate production losses
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with processes, equipment, and components
Analyze data and apply root cause problem-solving to drive improvements
Operate and support multiple technologies across lines or within a single line
Develop, follow, and improve Standard Work and Operating Procedures
Apply Lean principles and support audits (GMP, SQA, ISO, SEA, etc.)
Actively participate in Autonomous Production Teams and complete required technical training
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Possesses solid mechanical aptitude with demonstrated initiative to learn
Proven math and measurement skills for precise quality inspections using tools like rulers and hand gauges, ensuring accurate detection and corrective action
Demonstrated flexibility and reliability working independently or collaboratively in team-based environments to meet operational goals
Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) with clear communication skills
Demonstrated understanding of safety, health, and environmental practices essential to manufacturing operations
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
Manufacturing technical degree or 2+ years in a fast-paced, automated, multi-technology production environment.
Experience problem-solving and troubleshooting within fast-paced production settings, including SMED (Quick Changeover) to support efficient line transitions
Experience within a Lean Manufacturing Environment
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Full-time
12-hour night shift, including weekends on a rotating shift schedule
Must be available to work overtime
Physically capable of frequent climbing up and down steps and ladders
Capable of occasional lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds
Capable of occasional sustained squatting or kneeling
Physically capable of extended standing, walking, bending, twisting and overhead work during 12-hour shifts
Appropriate use and compliance to required PPE (personal protective equipment) including but not limited to hearing protection, eye protection, and steel-toed safety shoes.
This is an on-site position and is not eligible for remote work
Relocation assistance is not available for this role
