Sr Facilities Maintenance Technician - JLL

What this job involves As a Sr Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations team by operating, inspecting, and maintaining all HVAC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities to obtain the most efficient operating results. You will ensure that equipment is being maintained in an energy efficient, safe manner, and downtime is reduced by completing preventative maintenance and by executing necessary repairs in advance of failure. You will perform inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including walls and flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, lighting, etc. You will develop your skills and have the opportunity to mentor junior technicians. You will work as part of an engineering team of 10+ at multi‑building client property managed 24/7 by JLL.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities

Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interior/exterior repair, and related grounds as it pertains to assigned buildings.

Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as‑found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.

Respond effectively to all emergencies.

Prepare and submit to management summary reports listing conditions found while performing assigned work, and recommend and/or suggest action to be taken.

Study and become familiar with the various items of equipment, and the methods required to use them properly, that are required in everyday activities. This includes building automation systems, fire/life safety systems, and any other building‑related equipment.

Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.

Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.

Must be willing and able to support any after‑hours building related activity as required.

Attend periodic training seminars.

Other assigned operational tasks as may be typically expected of the Mobile Engineer role.

Candidate will be provided tools required to perform assigned work scope.

Must be able to respond to after‑hours site emergencies.

Required Qualifications

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.

Active Journeyman Electrician license in Duval County.

Ability to visually inspect machinery and buildings.

Ability to frequently walk up and down stairs for inspections and emergency procedure practice or implementation.

Working from heights and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to detect emergency alarms - auditory and/or visual.

Physically able to operate electric hand tools, work on a ladder, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, operate a motor vehicle.

Equipment inspections require getting on hands and knees to reach areas difficult to access.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Ability to work in a team and independently.

Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, contractors and co‑workers.

Must possess (4) years of technical experience in all aspects of building engineering with a strong background in technical aspects of machinery, plumbing, electrical, equipment repair and maintenance.

Must be proficient using computers & software programs such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

Trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration and HVAC.

CMMS experience.
