Loader (3rd Shift) - ONeal Steel / Jackson, MS
O'Neal Steel has an opening for a 3rd shift Loader at our Jackson, MS facility.
As a Loader, you will be responsible for loading and unloading material within a warehouse. You will utilize hand trucks, forklifts, overhead cranes, conveyors, spotter trucks and trailers or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks or trains and within the storage facility. The role requires knowledge of common practices and procedures, and the ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.
What you will be doing:
Operate a wide variety of material handling equipment including, but not limited to, overhead crane, stacker crane, forklift, side loader, yard dog, etc.
Apply critical thinking skills to plan and solve problems.
Safely load multi‑stop deliveries for customer delivery.
Balance loads to meet DOT weight regulations for legal and over‑dimensional loads.
Verify accuracy of material, quantity, packaging and other special instructions for each order shipped.
Perform loading duties 70% of the time or greater.
Use hand tools such as grinder, bander, drill, hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, etc.
Deliver high‑quality work to all internal and external customers.
Learn and retain product knowledge, standard handling and rigging procedures across all products.
Accurately read a tape measure.
Maintain a safe and organized work area.
Work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Shift: 3rd Shift – Sunday to Thursday, 7 pm – 3 am. Overtime will be required as needed.
Upon offer of employment, candidates must pass a criminal background check and drug test.

Qualifications:
Ability to operate a wide variety of material handling equipment including forklift, overhead crane, stacker.
Proficiency with hand tools such as grinder, bander, drill, hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench.
Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
Commitment to providing high‑quality work to all internal and external customers.
Preferred
Certification in operating an overhead crane.
Certification in operating a forklift.
