Job Summary & Responsibilities Join our team and play a vital role in ensuring patient safety! As a Sterile Processing Tech II, you'll be responsible for the meticulous cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment used throughout our facility. You'll be a key contributor to a safe and efficient operating room environment.

Instrument Expert: Thoroughly clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize medical devices according to established procedures and manufacturer's instructions.

Equipment Guardian: Operate and maintain cleaning and sterilization equipment, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols.

Quality Assurance Champion: Perform biological testing, monitor autoclave performance, and identify instruments needing repair or sharpening.

Inventory Manager: Maintain supply levels, fill surgical case cart requisitions using our hospital computer system, and report any equipment malfunctions.

Team Player & Mentor: Collaborate effectively with colleagues, physicians, and supervisory staff. Act as a preceptor and mentor to new team members, sharing your expertise and contributing to their development.

Safety Advocate: Demonstrate a strong understanding of sterilization principles, infection control practices, and universal safety precautions.

Job Requirements

Minimum of two years experience with surgical instrumentation.

Minimum two years prior sterile processing or surgical tech experience.

Completion of a Sterile Processing Program or surgical tech program.

High School Graduate or equivalent.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred.

Certified and Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) through HSPA required.

Current AHA BLS card.

Fire Card (within 90 days of hire).

Knowledge of specialty instruments and thorough knowledge of disinfecting and sterilization procedures.

This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.

Pay Range $26.79 – $33.66 per hour
