Overview The IP Network Technician is responsible for supporting configuration, administration, and optimization of Viaero networks and systems to achieve high performance applications and services.

This position reports to the Director of IP Engineering and Infrastructure and is a largely independent one requiring initiative and individual responsibility.

Essential Job Functions

Support Information Technology and Network Operations systems and networks, helping to keep performance at optimal levels.

Help maintain the server infrastructure including hardware, software, and storage.

Schedule and implement periodic maintenance of systems hardware and software.

Suggest methods to improve areas of operations, processes, efficiency, and service to the various customer groups.

May conduct research on new technologies, hardware, and products in support of system development efforts.

Monitor and test system performance to provide performance statistics and reports for tuning and capacity planning purposes.

Document actions taken in appropriate systems and/or on appropriate tickets. Work independently.

Provide IT and Networking Support to field forces, customers, and technical staff.

Provide customer IT & Networking Support.

Provide on‑call support and respond to service‑affecting outages and emergency situations.

Support Company through use of products and services and promote (educate) community on products and services.

Make decisions based on problem solving, technical knowledge, and capabilities of systems.

Follow Company policies, procedures and all appropriate laws.

Work independently; take pride and ownership while exhibiting a willingness to learn.

Be willing to interpret process and go outside the box to provide solutions.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required. Bachelor degree in computer or electronics technology or graduate from an accredited two‑year technical school with courses in Math, Basic Electronics, Networking, and/or Telecommunications is desired.

High computer proficiency required. Previous telecom or ISP experience preferred.

Strong PC and IP troubleshooting skills. Ability to program, troubleshoot and/or perform system diagnostics.

Candidates must be able to pass pre‑hire processes, including drug test, criminal background check and MVR check.
