2nd Shift Robotic Weld Operator

Use robotic welder to weld components for hydraulic cylinders, rods, and tubes according to specifications provided. Job responsibilities include fixture setup, tacking components, monitoring and feeding robotic welder, maintaining quality of weld and components, using computer programs, and required cleaning and maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Welds components for hydraulic cylinders, rods, and tubes
Tacks components to be welded by the robot
Feeds parts to robot with as little down time as possible
Keeps welding spatter to a minimum, using spat guards and/or prohibiters as appropriate
Removes spatter with manual or power equipment as necessary
Monitors and corrects weld defects (cold lap, porosity, undercut, etc.)
Performs daily robot maintenance (cleanup, check for loose connections, etc.)
Enters required information to computer
Completes routing sheets according to next required process
Competencies
Applies common sense understanding to basic work processes
Carries out detailed, but simply stated, written or oral instructions
Handles problems involving a few concrete and routine job specific variables
Demonstrates a working understanding and practical application of shop math: practical application of fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, practical algebra, geometric construction, and essentials of trigonometry required to interpret prints and produce quality parts
Reads and interprets sketches and prints
Analyzes problems common to welding and identifies the root cause
Measures components and assemblies to verify conformance to the print (tape measure, scale, caliper)
