Customer Service Representative Location: Motor Vehicle Administration, 4123 E. Valley Auto Dr., Mesa, AZ 85206.

Salary: $16,042 – $18,080 per year. Grade: 13–16.

Job Summary Customer Service Representative levels 1 and 3 provide motor vehicle services including licensing, titling, testing, and permits at local MVD field offices. The role ensures timely, accurate work products and secure handling of documents in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes and Department of Transportation policies.

Job Duties

Process credentials and title work, examining documents for accuracy, validity, and security.

Answer customer questions and provide customer service for vehicle or credential records through system research and document review.

Administer operator knowledge and skills testing and conduct level 1 vehicle inspections, including VIN validation.

Capture customers' photo, signature, and application information for credential eligibility/issuance.

Determine, collect, evaluate fees, and balance accounts using general accounting procedures.

Secure and protect all personal identity information (PII) and inventory.

Participate in process improvement activities, identifying gaps and recommending solutions to increase customer service and reduce costs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of ADOT/MVD rules, regulations, processes, and procedures.

Customer service principles and best practices.

Verbal and written communication with a customer‑centric focus.

Typing or keyboard use at a rate capable of meeting expected productivity.

Adaptability to changing environments and processes.

Ability to stand or sit for long periods and work outside when necessary.

Operate a PC/computer and proprietary MVD software, as well as other office equipment.

Selective Preferences

CSR 1 – Entry‑level training position, requires no experience.

CSR 3 – One year previous MVD experience in title & registration and/or driver’s licenses OR successful completion of training and adherence to performance standards (typically within 6 months).

Pre‑Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Background check and fingerprinting are required. All newly hired State employees must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E‑Verify).
