MANAGER, SPACEPORT OPERATIONS
The Spaceport Operations Manager will be responsible for directing and managing the organization's housing accommodations and community. This role involves developing and implementing effective customer service strategies and training programs. Key responsibilities of the Spaceport Operations Manager will include, but are not limited to: coordinating service operations, monitoring and motivating staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, engaging with customers, hiring and developing talent, maintaining compliance with mandatory company training, managing scheduling and payroll, and conducting interviews and onboarding for new staff. The Spaceport Operations Manager will uphold customer service principles and support the mission by fostering a strong understanding of excellent customer service and high-quality living and visiting accommodations, which are essential for enhancing morale and productivity within SpaceX.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees Spaceport village operations including strategy and execution leasing and traveler housing program
Monitor quality and consistency of Spaceport operations by setting and enforcing standards, inspecting and routinely walking areas of responsibility
Train staff on customer service, anticipating guest needs and problem resolution
Enforce proper safety practices with staff and leads
Monitor financial activities for Spaceport operations strategically driving revenue and improving operating costs
Manage performance for Spaceport Operations staff
Assist in all aspects of project implementation to build out Starbase Village as needed, including aesthetic industrial design improvements
Provide campus wide reporting on departmental spend, ticketing, and other metrics as requested
Perform job walk-downs with vendors, engineers, supervisors, and managers
Create RFPO's and assists the buyers with vendor selection
Work closely with Spaceport Development Team, Facilities, Culinary and Hospitality teams
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree or higher
5+ years of operations experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience opening new operations and/or creating operational procedures from the ground up
Advanced knowledge of customer service and problem resolution
Experienced with Microsoft Office and Outlook
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to organize work for large groups in various service formats
Experience with high volume, complex multidisciplinary operations
Experience leading groups in large team settings of 10 or more staff members
Familiar with space planning procedures and operations
Ability to create and update RFPOs and facilities work orders in an ERP software
Ability to make independent judgments with limited information
Ability to read and understand basic floor plans
Comfortable working in a high-stress environment, balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes
Experience with leasing and/or hotel operations
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Stand: Up to 6 hours per day
Sit: Up to 3 hours per day
Push/Pull: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 1-2 hours per day
Overhead reach: Up to 1 hour per day
Walk: Up to 3 hours per day

Climb (ladder/stairs): Up to 1 hour per day
Kneel/Crouch: Up to 1 hour per day
Upper body twist: Up to 1 hour per day
Ability to work in temperatures over 80 degrees up to 1 hour per day
