Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent education (including GED, homeschool equivalency, partial or full post‑secondary education).
Minimum two years of general maintenance‑related experience; experience in a health‑care environment preferred.
Licenses & Certifications None required.

Demonstrates competencies necessary to safely perform duties as assessed on‑the‑job.
Proficient in speaking, reading, writing English required for safety‑related tasks.
Effective communication with patients, physicians, family members and co‑workers; customer‑service orientation.
Ability to complete work within designated time frames.
Accesses information within the department and hospital system to support work.
Basic knowledge of trade skills: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, heating and cooling.
Reads and interprets safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
Performs tasks efficiently and correctly via on‑the‑job training.
Follows detailed instructions for routine procedures and equipment operation.
Essential Functions People
Communicates effectively with patients, family members, medical staff, co‑workers, and other hospital personnel to enhance work environment quality.
Promotes a positive work environment and collaborates with the team.
Uses peer‑to‑peer accountability toward department goals.
Service
Performs entity surveillance, rounding, issuing work orders; recommends improvements.
Assists technicians and personnel in operating central plant(s) and facility operations.
Seeks clarification from Senior/Lead Tech for semi‑skilled repairs.
Conducts basic troubleshooting and maintenance repair; performs preventative inspections for HVAC, electrical, plumbing.
Quality/Safety
Prioritizes work activities and meets timelines to optimize response time on tickets.
Follows department safety standards and policies; educates staff on safety initiatives.
Uses tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
Finance
Documents work orders accurately.
Monitors inventory of spare parts and supplies; manages time to reduce overtime.

Participates in department projects and continuing education.
Updates My Development Plan and discusses with management.
Seeks opportunities for extra learning beyond baseline skills.
