We are seeking an experienced Construction Scheduler to oversee the scheduling, coordination, and daily management of employees and equipment involved in asphalt paving and earthwork. This role requires strong leadership, long‑term planning, and the ability to manage fast‑moving field operations.

Responsibilities

Create and manage daily work schedules to ensure adequate staffing for all projects.

Review dispatch operations to identify training needs and recommend improvements.

Prepare, review, and maintain operational reports, records, and statistics.

Forecast manpower needs and hire accordingly.

Attend management scheduling meetings to plan upcoming work.

Determine travel times, plant locations, and material sourcing for efficient job support.

Understand truck capacities, plant loading capabilities, and available materials across sites.

Ensure proper materials and inventory levels at asphalt plants.

Screen, review, and maintain job applications for future hiring needs.

Prepare employment records and onboarding documentation for new hires.

Enforce company safety and environmental policies.

Manage utilization of owned and rental equipment.

Coordinate with maintenance shops to schedule equipment repairs and service.

Work overtime when required.

Manage 30‑60‑90‑day progress for new hires in the construction division.

Participate in career fairs and hiring events.

Visit job sites and maintain strong communication with direct reports.

Set up and manage the Tyfoom safety platform for all employees.

Manage job setup and removal within the Lineup platform.

Distribute work orders to crews.

Schedule and manage time‑off requests.

Coordinate with other business units to maximize resource utilization.

Monitor and approve employee timecards.

Participate in performance coaching as needed.

Leadership Responsibilities This position oversees approximately 200 employees within the Construction Department. Responsibilities include:

Interviewing, hiring, and training employees.

Planning, assigning, and directing work.

Conducting performance evaluations.

Administering rewards and discipline.

Addressing concerns and resolving problems.

Safety Expectations

Conduct daily toolbox talks covering safety, risk assessment, and production goals.

Mark on‑site hazards using designated safety equipment.

Perform monthly work‑zone inspections using Tyfoom.

Ensure all crew members receive documented task training before equipment use.

Understand and follow all incident‑response procedures.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of company safety programs (TRACK, GOAL, SEE‑STOP‑DO, etc.).

Ensure daily Vehicle Condition Reports (VCRs) are completed.

Identify and communicate project‑specific hazards.

Participate in incident review calls and ensure incident reports are completed.

Accompany injured employees to medical care when required.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED required.

3–5 years of supervisory experience in construction or a related field.
