Heavy Equipment Operator

Responsible for operating heavy equipment used for moving or grading earth, applying concrete, asphalt and other materials.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Operate equipment under general supervision.
Could operate Graders, roller booms, dozers, scrapers, blades, loaders etc.
Move levers, depress foot pedals and turn dials to operator power machinery, such as power shovels, stripping shovels, scraper loaders and backhoes
Inspect equipment for safety issues daily and determine if any parts are malfunctioning.
Cleans, maintains, and lubricates equipment.
Understand the use of equipment in various jobs
Complete job tickets, service quality summaries, and all other necessary paperwork.
Lift, position and place machinery, equipment or other large objects at construction sites and industrial facilities.
Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required for this Position Education
– no minimum education requirements.
Certification / License:
State issued Driver’s License and TWIC
Experience
– 3-5 years of operating equipment in an Industrial setting.
