Job Summary

This position operates bulk material handling equipment to facilitate the movement of product between buildings, truckloads, and railcar. The work is performed inside and outside, with exposure to temperature extremes, weather, dirt, and dust. The role requires safety precautions and adherence to established procedures. Responsibilities

Operate bulk material handling equipment, such as conveyors, boom lifts, wheel loader, and sky track. Secure trailers to all docks and provide trailer information to the office. Operate electric forklift and associated warehouse equipment to safely and accurately move product within the warehouse. Additional equipment may include stretch wrappers, scrubber, and hand tools. Use warehouse management system (WMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) and follow internal protocol for inventory accuracy and customer compliance. Load and unload trailers and rail cars in a safe manner to avoid damage to product or physical assets. Spot and load or unload railcars, trucks, and trailers. Operate train unloading equipment, switch railcars, walk railcars prior to movement, and align track switches. Apply railcar hand brakes, connect railcar air hoses, change railcar air hoses, and provide point protection for shoving movements. Check and clean tracks of obstructions that could cause derailment. Inspect safety appliances prior to mounting/moving all equipment. Use proper radio communications and keep material handling equipment clean and operating properly. Perform all work according to established procedures and safety practices. Education Requirements

High School Diploma required. Preferred Experience

5 years of experience operating a forklift inside a warehouse facility and outside yard. Experience operating heavy equipment such as wheel loader, conveyors, boom lifts, etc. Experience working in a food grade environment (warehouse/manufacturing). Experience working with a warehouse management system (WMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP). Key Skills

Work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Work independently with minimal direct supervision. Work inside and outside with exposure to temperature extremes. Use a calculator and basic math competency. Flexibility to other work assignments including sanitation, value-added, assembly and rework projects. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. safely. Benefits
