Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Job Description
We have two openings for the role of Shipping and Receiving Clerk for the 2nd shift. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our shipping and receiving processes.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate records of items shipped and received.
Oversee the safe and reliable packaging of all outgoing shipments.
Process items for shipment according to established guidelines and procedures.
Review shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet schedules.
Ensure all international shipment documentation is compliant with applicable standards.
Maintain timely, effective, and professional communication with all internal and external customers and suppliers.
Perform effective record-keeping, filing, and other administrative duties as required.
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures and report any accidents immediately.
Work directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic math and reading skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Basic computer skills
Interpersonal skills for effective communication with plant manager, sales staff, and plant personnel
Ability to understand equipment and tolerances from past experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Warehouse experience with forklift, packing, and shipping
Some knowledge of metals handling for proper staging, processing, packaging, and shipping
First aid and CPR training
Exposure to SAP, safety programs, ISO standards
Experience with forklift, shipping and receiving, kitting, logistics, inventory control, customer service, SAP, ERP systems, Microsoft Office, order selection, FedEx, RF scanner
Knowledge of Bill of Lading, shipping, receiving, and work orders
Associate degree preferred

Work Environment This role is set in a warehouse environment that is not climate-controlled. The position is scheduled for the 2nd shift, from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential voluntary weekend shifts. Training will occur on the 1st shift from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The work involves being on or around heavy machinery.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.20 - $20.20/hr.
