This is a full-time temporary position. If selected, onboarding will be completed through a staffing agency About us Kern Health Systems is dedicated to improving the health status of our members through an integrated managed health care delivery system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operates desktop computer in a Windows environment.

Routes incoming telephone calls to the proper person after determining the needs of the caller.

Meets and assists the public by answering their general questions according to department policies.

Have visitors sign in and issue temporary visitor badges.

Performs data entry tasks as assigned which may include, but not limited to, letter generation, statistical data entry and generation of reports for Supervisor as requested.

Types letters, files document, creates address labels for mailing and other various clerical tasks as needed.

Performs research for projects as required.

Accept incoming and returned mail deliveries as needed and route to appropriate departments.

Collects statistical data as assigned.

Other Functions

Promotes high standards of member satisfaction and access to medical care by documenting feedback from members. Any deviations from established standards are documented in QNXT and reported to management for evaluation.

Documents all interactions with members and providers by appropriately coding and logging in QNXT.

Assembles and provides current plan information including Member Identification Cards requested by members ensuring that the information is accurate.

Performs other job‑related duties as required.

Adheres to all company policies and procedures relative to employment and job responsibilities.

Regular predictable attendance.

Employment Standards High School diploma from an accredited school or equivalent. One (1) year of receptionist related experience, which has included both telephone and public contact. Typing skills 30 NWM (certificate required) within one year of issuance; data entry skills. Must be bilingual fluent in Spanish.

Knowledge of Proper telephone technique and etiquette; proper English grammar; good public relations practices; general office practices; some medical background experience desired, preferably HMO. MS Word and Excel.
