Assistant Store Manager
Location: 4018 Jonesboro Rd, Forest Park, GA 30297 – Part‑time position with Family Dollar.
Responsibilities
Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day activities.
Provide customer service in a positive, approachable manner.
Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor, ensuring seasonal areas are maintained.
Perform opening and closing procedures.
Process corporate directives such as Pull, Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey requests, and other store communications.
Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record‑keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
Keep the sales floor, stockroom, and other store areas well‑stocked, organized, and up to company standards.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Enforce policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, and ensure all associates follow them.
Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with professional and friendly interactions.
Maintain store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, trash removal, and presentation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred); must be able to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment (preferred).
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment.
Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
