Operator, Pharmaceutical (2nd Shift, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) Perform necessary tasks to plan and manufacture high‑quality products on time and in the right quantities in accordance with site policies and practices.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Ensure a safe work environment by following all safety procedures, workplace standards and company guidelines, ergonomic rules, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), standard operating procedures (SOPs), current good manufacturing practices (CGMPs), OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout procedures.

Work with the other pharmaceutical operators and supervisors in the assigned area to establish priorities and meet deadlines, and meet the production schedules outlined by the team and/or supervision.

Maintain, clean, and organize the work area and participate in safety improvement projects; properly dispose of waste products and containers.

Dispense components, operate, clean, set‑up, changeover, and maintain equipment and rooms to manufacture products.

Clean and maintain process equipment which may include, but is not limited to, tanks, filler, pumps, blenders, mills, presses, coating pans, etc.

Assist with technical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks as needed and as trained.

Take action to safely reduce equipment set‑up and changeover times; initiate and establish equipment operating parameters to maximize production while meeting all product specifications.

Ensure product quality by performing in‑process checks, complying with CGMPs, being alert for unacceptable quality of incoming and outgoing materials, initiating quality improvements, and participating in quality improvement projects; communicate quality and other non‑compliance issues to supervision in a timely manner.

Accurately record on the appropriate documents the process/manufacturing steps, production results, equipment in‑process checks, samplings, cleanings, ingredients used, and any other required CGMP information.

Maintain daily production sheets and time sheets for the team.

Review and approve work output for team members by using validated methods.

Perform work on a personal computer (e.g., business operating systems, read and respond to email in a timely manner, Microsoft software, etc.); complete, maintain, and update production documentation (both electronic and paper) to perform material movements, material take‑outs and yield determinations by following SOPs and utilizing systems such as SAP, MES, electronic batch records (EBRs), etc.

Operate motorized and non‑motorized material handling equipment for assigned stocking operations as well as stand‑up and sit‑down fork trucks as needed.

Take ownership of training and learning to develop high‑performance competencies such as technical skills, communication skills, and skills to build a team‑oriented culture (e.g., take ownership of training records for self‑development and submit to supervision in a timely manner, train team members, motivate and support team members, share knowledge to continuously improve the process, etc.).

Cross‑train and train other pharmaceutical operators on equipment.

Qualifications Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.

Minimum 6 months’ experience using motorized & non‑motorized material handling equipment.

Minimum of 6 months’ experience using automated inventory system or equivalent computer systems (e.g., SAP, MES, Microsoft software, etc.).

Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Ability to operate a forklift truck & pallet jack.

Demonstrated ability to successfully changeover/set up multiple pieces of packaging or manufacturing equipment.

Ability to work safely in a production environment.

Ability to read/interpret/follow instructions on workplace documentation, such as SOPs, operator manuals, work instructions, etc.

Mathematical aptitude in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, & metric system.

Experience working in a good manufacturing practice (GMP) or standard operating procedures (SOP) environment.

Good PC skills, including use of e‑mail, attaching documents to e‑mail.

Experience using electronic databases and online tools (e.g., Lotus Notes database, employee self‑services online tools, automated inventory tracking system, etc.).

Willing to work overtime as required, based on production demands.

Ability to work independently as well as an effective team member to support schedule attainment demands, including prioritizing and time‑management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Forklift truck experience.

Manufacturing experience.

Ability to troubleshoot/diagnose, changeover, operate, clean, and maintain tablet press.

Employees can expect to be paid an hourly rate between $25.89 - $38.83. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
