Diesel Mechanic – Amerit Fleet Solutions
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of medium to heavy‑duty fleet vehicles to ensure a safe and efficient operation. This role requires a high level of proficiency and knowledge related to the diagnosis and repair of heavy‑duty diesel engines, as well as fleet maintenance operations, electrical, preventative maintenance, and DOT inspection experience. Our fleet is 100% CNG Clean Energy. We are willing to train Cummins experts and support CNG certifications within 60 working days.

Responsibilities
Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on medium to heavy‑duty vehicles
Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation
Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
Inspect and perform work on the underparts of vehicles
Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles
Interact with clients through both email and phone as necessary
Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
At least 3 years’ experience performing vehicle maintenance or experience with Cummins or JPro
Must provide own hand tools & toolbox
Knowledge of hand‑held scan tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles
Proficient computer skills: Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
Working Conditions
Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job
Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes, and noise
Exposure to chemicals, oils, grease, or other irritants
Ability to access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
Ability to move and position heavy objects
Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and crawl to repair vehicles
Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
