Fire Sprinkler Service Technician The Fire Sprinkler Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and optimal safety for occupants, with a strong focus on repairs and maintenance. This role involves working directly with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure the integrity and reliability of fire protection systems.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct inspections and testing of wet, dry, and pre-action fire sprinkler systems per NFPA requirements.

Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection findings, test results, and deficiencies in accordance with NFPA standards.

Test and evaluate sprinkler heads, valves, piping, pumps, and control systems.

Inspect system components for corrosion, leaks, or damage and recommend repairs or replacements.

Perform system maintenance (component replacements, cleaning, lubrication, adjustments).

Inspect and test fire pump assemblies for flow rates, pressure levels, and mechanical integrity.

Respond to service calls and emergencies, diagnosing and resolving system issues promptly.

Document all service activities in the Service Trade operations platform.

Collaborate with Deficiency Sellers to provide inspection data, repair needs, and estimates.

Communicate with clients regarding inspection results, system functionality, and recommended improvements.

Work closely with Service Coordinators to optimize work orders, scheduling, and efficiency.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following all safety standards.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED (technical/vocational training in fire protection preferred).

Strong knowledge of fire protection codes and standards, including NFPA, NFPA, and related building/fire codes.

NICET certification strongly preferred.

+ years of experience in fire sprinkler installation, service, or repair in commercial/industrial environments.

Proven troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to travel to client sites.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to lbs.

Comfortable working in various environments (industrial, commercial, outdoors, heights, confined spaces).

Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and use of hand/power tools.

Must be able to work safely with fall protection and other safety equipment.

Sign‑On Bonus: Up to $ (paid in two installments: after days and after days, based on experience and certifications such as NICET)
