Job Description We are seeking a Structural Fitter/Fabricator to join our growing team at SI Utility, a locally owned company specializing in the fabrication of steel utility poles. This position plays a key role in ensuring that all structural components meet the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities Assemble, fabricate, and fit structural metal components for steel utility poles.
Read and interpret engineering blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Measure, cut, shape, and fit metal components using a variety of tools and machinery.
Weld or bond materials together to build frameworks and supports per specifications.
Align and fit parts precisely using appropriate measuring and leveling tools.
Inspect completed assemblies for conformance to design and AWS D1:1 quality standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
General Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge of basic shop math and ability to operate standard tools and machinery.
Must pass a weld test.
Team‑oriented, dependable, and highly motivated.
Physical Requirements Ability to stand/walk up to 90% of the workday.
Occasional bending, squatting, climbing ladders/stairs, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
Must be able to accurately assess weights, distances, and heights.
