The Welder must be capable of performing a variety of welding functions and be familiar with various types of welding equipment. Additional miscellaneous tasks are required as determined by supervision. Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, general arrangement and sub‑component detail drawings Maintain, repair, rebuild and fabricate parts when required for all types of industrial equipment Perform preventive maintenance inspections, diagnose equipment problems and report findings to supervision Perform MIG, arc and TIG welding, layout, and pipefitting functions Full compliance with plant, state and federal safety regulations and general work rules. Use proper lock‑out procedures and personal protective equipment Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions Examine weld for bead size and other specifications Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes Position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in jig or fixtures Select torch, torch tip, filler, forge and flux according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of material Tack assemblies together Chip off excess weld, slag and spatter Clean or de‑grease parts Perform all necessary maintenance and repair on all equipment used in welding Move parts in and move finished product out of the welding area Other duties as assigned Qualifications
Certified Welder Required to obtain a D14.1 certification at a G1‑G4 position within 30 days after hire. If already certified with a previous employer it does not apply in our facility. Must qualify with Mazzella. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a metal fabrication environment or other equivalent experience Must be able to read and interpret blueprints Possess a working knowledge of all applicable manufacturers and industry standards (CMAA, HMI, ANSI, and OSHA) Must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds Requires solid written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical, conceptual and planning skills are required Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required Must be detail oriented, self‑motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi‑task Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E‑verify Demonstrated mechanical aptitude Education
A high school diploma or GED is required; military experience, trade or technical school preferred Salary
$50,000.00 – $60,000.00 EOE
