Student Fellowship – United States – Summer 2026 Gensler invites ambitious students and recent graduates to join the Summer Fellowship and contribute to cutting‑edge research that shapes the future of cities. The program offers full‑time, paid work and hands‑on learning alongside senior team members.

Your Role As a Fellow, you will work full‑time on real projects and research initiatives that support Gensler’s global mission. You will engage with peers, collaborate across teams, and help deliver innovative solutions that influence design practice worldwide.

What You Will Do You will assist in research and thought‑leadership projects, develop design concepts, and contribute to publications that address challenges in the built environment. Your work will support the firm’s commitment to re‑defining the future of cities.

Your Qualifications

Meeting at least one of the following educational criteria: Undergraduate: entering final year in an architecture, interior design, urban design, or related program by fall 2026.

Graduate: enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program in a related field.

Recent graduate: graduated Dec 2025 or Spring 2026.

Accredited degrees (NAAB, CIDA, or equivalent) preferred.

Professional or educational background in design of the built environment (architecture, interior design, urban design, etc.).

Interest and experience in research.

Online portfolio (PDF) demonstrating design process and innovative solutions.

Strong academic record.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Graphic and persuasive writing ability.

Familiarity with research methodologies and processes.

Interest in user research, design strategy, and space programming.

Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.

Basic AutoCAD and/or Revit.

Basic 3D and multimedia skills are a plus.

Hand sketching ability is a plus.

Program Details The fellowship runs full‑time from June 1 to July 31, 2026. Participants must be available for the entire duration. Pay is $23.50–$31 per hour, depending on location and year in program. Applications may be filled before the posting closes.

How to Apply Part I: Submit an online application through Gensler’s careers site (Workday), including resume and portfolio.

Part II: Submit a portfolio with 3–4 curated PDF samples (max 10 MB total) and essay responses. Portfolios without samples will not be considered.

Both parts remain open until Mid‑March 2026.
