Description Acara Solutions has been providing aerospace firms throughout the U.S. with our staffing services for over 65 years. Our Sacramento, CA region international aerospace client (metal machine shop) is looking for multiple direct Machinists to join their organization.

These are 2nd shift openings . Monday‑Friday 4:00pm‑1:30am (includes time and one‑half overtime each week). They also have 1 first shift manual lathe opening. Intro/training period usually begins on 1st shift before transitioning to 2nd shift. First shift hours are Monday‑Friday 7:30am‑4:30p.

If the candidate is outside of the region, there is a sign‑on bonus of up to $5K to help with relocation. If local, there is a $1,000 sign‑on bonus.

Hourly rates:

2‑5 years experience: $28 - $32/hr + 10% diff for 2nd shift.

5+ years experience: up to $41/hr + 10% diff for 2nd shift.

The CNC Machinist produces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

Understand work orders, blueprints, manufacturing orders, and machining parameters

Validate material used

Maintain specifications; troubleshoot, detect malfunctions and take appropriate actions; know when to replace worn tools

Listen to machining operation to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and compensate for problems

Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, fixtures, and knowledge of GDT standards

Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken thus far as well as any necessary further steps

Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications:

High School education and or GED

Minimum 2 years of experience machining with CNC lathes (preferably CNC single and double spindle lathes) that includes knowledge of various inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and height gages

Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations

Knowledge of Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing

Understanding of cutting tool geometry

Knowledge of tooling and coordination

This is an ITAR facility – U.S. Persons required (Green Card ok)

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

CNC‑Mills

Understanding of CNC G Code

Understanding of basic Math, Geometry and Trigonometry

Excellent teamwork skills
