Company Description
We are currently seeking a
Core Machine Operator
to operate and support computer-controlled core making equipment used in the production process. This role is responsible for supporting various core making functions while maintaining a strong focus on personal and team safety to ensure efficient and consistent production.

Core Machine Operator positions start at $25.60 per hour , with an additional
$1.00 shift premium for 2nd and 3rd shifts . Employees also become eligible for five (5) vacation days after six months of continuous employment.

Job Description General Duties and Responsibilities
Promote and uphold
The McWane Way
principles, values, and behaviors.
Adhere to safety protocols outline in the Tyler Union Safety Management Program.
Assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Follow ergonomic and safe lifting techniques.
Perform daily equipment inspections and report any issues.
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)
Interpret work orders and verbal instructions to determine tasks and materials.
Operate and monitor machines to ensure product quality and resolve malfunctions.
Set up and operate core‑making machinery, adjusting parameters such as pressure, temperature, and cycle times to meet production specifications.
Install and change over core boxes as needed for production runs.
Operate and maintain the core sand mixer and related equipment.
Monitor machines during operation to ensure product quality and promptly resolve any malfunctions.
Perform routine machine setup and troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance.
Maintain accurate records of production output, material usage, and equipment performance.
Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Meet or exceed established hourly production targets.
Report equipment issues or production errors to supervisors in a timely manner.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience
High school diploma/GED certificate preferred.
At least one (1) year foundry experience.
Previous work experience in a foundry or heavy manufacturing environment preferred.
Skills

Machine operation and control.
Physical & Cognitive Abilities
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
Manual dexterity and multi‑limb coordination.
Strength and stamina for lifting 50 pounds repetitively.
Visual and auditory acuity.
Ability to work in high‑temperature, high‑humidity environments.
Comfortable working around dust, fumes, and moving machinery.
Capable of wearing required PPE including respirators.
