Gross and Company is conducting Multiple Metro-Detroit area Personal Injury Law Firm client searches for detail‑oriented
Legal Assistants . The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in a personal injury law firm. This role involves providing administrative and clerical support to attorneys and paralegals to ensure the efficient operation of the office and smooth case management.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings.
Schedule and coordinate client appointments, depositions, mediations, and court hearings.
File legal documents with courts, ensuring compliance with filing deadlines and procedures.
Maintain and organize case files, both physical and electronic, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
Manage attorney's calendars and monitor case deadlines.
Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progress.
Assist in tracking case‑related expenses.
Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence, ensuring prompt and professional responses.
Transcribe dictations and draft routine correspondence.
Support attorneys and paralegals with administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal assiatant, preferably in personal injury law.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), dictaphone transcription, and case management software.
Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and filing requirements.
Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all tasks.
Professional demeanor and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Familiarity with e‑filing systems and local, state, and federal court processes.
