We're looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service.
Overview Working as an Additive Manufacturing Operator in our Marina facility, you will run Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) printers, powder processing equipment, and post-processing equipment. Initially, you will work supervised by team members experienced in operating the machines, and you will be trained to work independently following standard operating procedures (SOPs). In this specialized role, you will be involved with the full manufacturing of these parts, from printing to depowdering to post-processing and cleaning.
Responsibilities
Setup and clean down of LPBF printers utilizing standard operating procedures
Perform daily checks on machines using appropriate procedures
Perform support removal and post-processing operations for additive parts
Operating various industrial equipment
Ability to provide opportunities for improvement
Assist in maintaining a safe and clean lab environment
Utilize Manufacturing Executing System (MES) for manufacturing work instructions and data entry
Required
HS Diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch around machines, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Stand or walk for long periods of time
Excellent team spirit and ability to work independently
Attention to detail
Advanced manual dexterity and precision
Ability to learn and follow all required safety guidelines
Experience with general computer knowledge and operation
Experience with general operation of machinery and basic mechanical knowledge
Possess time management skills and an understanding of production process flows
Desired
Additive manufacturing lab experience desired but not required
1 year minimum experience in a manufacturing environment
Metal and/or polymer additive machining experience desired but not required
Ability to have a flexible work schedule (Overtime and weekends as required)
Compensation Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $24 - $31/hour. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
