Facilities Technician at City of Irving
Responsibilities
Perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical and masonry work
Troubleshoot, make repairs, and assist with remodeling projects
Prepare and paint interior and exterior walls
Maintain mechanical security systems (interior and exterior locks)
Perform many phases of new construction for building additions
Respond to service calls
Assemble, dismantle, and move furniture and other objects
Assist with deliveries for other departments
Perform light custodial work
Lift up to 50 pounds frequently
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Two years of mechanical maintenance experience
Sheetrock finishing and painting experience beneficial
Valid Class C Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain one
Ability to respond to after-hours service calls concerning building maintenance emergencies
Candidates must pass a thorough background check; a criminal history check will be conducted
Must not have any criminal conviction above Grade B misdemeanor or any B misdemeanor within the past 10 years; other convictions may also be considered
Pay Grade GG14 / $21.94 - $30.94 per hour
