Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating tractor with a 53ft dry van trailer. This role involves transporting freight safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. The Truck Driver will be responsible for route driving, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the vehicle in good working condition.
Responsibilities
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while minimizing fuel consumption.
No touch freight to the driver. (if driver assist is required, driver has to approve and will be paid extra)
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents that occur during transport.
Communicate with dispatch regarding any delays or issues encountered on the road.
Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding transportation.
Skills
Proficient in driving automatic transmission vehicles.
Ability to resolve weight issues (adjusting tandems if/when necessary)
Experience with route driving and understanding of logistics operations.
Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols.
Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise during transport.
Excellent communication skills for interaction with dispatchers and clients.
A valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required.
