Position Summary The material expediter position compiles and maintains material and parts inventory and status information to expedite the movement of material and parts between production areas by performing the following duties.
Primary Responsibilities
Read production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine the type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
Confere with department supervisors to determine overdue material and parts and inform supervisors of material status.
Direct warehouse staff to expedite transfer of materials from stock area to production areas.
Examine material received, verify parts numbers, and check discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts.
Compare work ticket specifications to material used at work stations to verify appropriate assignment.
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of experience.
