Position Purpose Responsible for loading, unloading, transporting, and positioning materials to and from various sites on the rooftops of residential homes and commercial buildings. Works closely with the driver to load materials onto trucks and manually unload them onto rooftops using a conveyor system, while following Roofing Contractors’ specifications and protecting customer property. Upkeep of all SRS safety standards is required.
Key Responsibilities
Load and unload roofing materials from delivery trucks using manual and mechanical methods, ensuring careful handling to prevent damage.
Follow safety guidelines, assist in scaffolding assembly, inspect equipment, and report any issues.
Facilitate safe distribution of materials onto flat and sloped roofs according to company safety guidelines.
Operate conveyor belt systems (when trained and certified) to transport building materials from flatbed trucks to rooftops.
Verify and reconcile material orders, maintain accurate inventory documentation.
Provide exceptional service to roofing contractors, responding to inquiries in a professional manner.
Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations and company protocols, including proper use of PPE.
Coordinate loading and unloading processes with drivers and team members, supporting overall branch operations and customer service tasks.
Inspect delivery sites for hazards to assist drivers in maneuvering vehicles safely.
Travel Requirements The position requires frequent local travel within the designated branch delivery area using company vehicles. Occasional travel (less than 10% overnight) to nearby branches or out‑of‑town emergencies may occur with advance notice.
Physical Requirements
Physically fit, capable of lifting heavy items and operating machinery.
Comfortable working at heights, standing, walking, bending, climbing.
Handle materials up to 100 lbs regularly.
Wearing PPE including harness when required.
Working Conditions Primarily outdoors and on rooftops with exposure to various weather conditions. Safety equipment required. Work hours Monday–Friday with potential overtime or weekend shifts.
Minimum Qualifications
Reliable transportation for commuting.
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Pass criminal, driving background checks, and pre‑employment drug test.
Physical stamina and strength to lift 80‑100 lbs repeatedly.
Basic math skills for inventory counts.
Proficient verbal and written English communication.
Safety awareness and knowledge of OSHA guidelines.
Read work/s shipping orders, follow verbal instructions.
Work on sloped roofs of various pitches and heights.
Wear appropriate PPE, especially harness.
Work in diverse weather conditions, exposed to high noise levels.
Availability Monday–Friday, potential overtime.

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 18 years of age.
Knowledge of construction materials and procedures.
Proficiency in operating a forklift.
Over one year experience in building materials, roofing supply, or rooftop delivery.
Experience operating forklifts, boom/crane trucks, or similar equipment.
Familiarity with conveyor systems and relevant loading machinery.
Proficiency in Spanish in addition to English.
Minimum Education High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education Completion of relevant vocational training or certification in construction, material handling, or forklift operation.
Certifications Forklift certification preferred.
Competencies
Perform labor‑intensive tasks, lifting 50‑100 lbs repeatedly on varied terrains.
Adhere rigorously to OSHA guidelines and company safety protocols.
Work effectively with drivers, roofing contractors, and team members for coordination.
Ensure accuracy in reading work orders, inventory counts, and order fulfillment.
Maintain reliable attendance and meet delivery schedules with minimal supervision.
Strong verbal and written English communication for instruction and documentation.
Display flexibility in handling varied work hours, weather, and customer needs.
