Stock Clerk Position
This position serves as a stock clerk primarily for the Frozen Food and Dairy Department stocking the coolers and displays with frozen food and dairy merchandise in the store. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Daily inspection of the frozen food and dairy cases ensuring proper temperatures are maintained Ensure inventory is sufficiently stocked and displayed Ensure proper signage is on merchandise; work with signage personnel when needed Check expiration dates of merchandise, removing expired products from display Assist with the unloading of delivery trucks Verify invoices of merchandise delivered Operate department equipment and tools Retrieve, load and unload products and merchandise onto cart to move from back room to displays Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist and thank customers in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner. Keep work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards Promptly address maintenance and safety issues with store or department manager Report all accidents promptly to store or department manager Punctuality and good attendance in compliance with company policies; ensure work responsibilities are covered during foreseeable absences Performs other work-related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position Secondary duties and responsibilities may include: Train newly hired employees on stock procedures and process May perform general cleaning duties such as mopping and sweeping Report any equipment malfunctions to store or department manager May assist store manager on duty in other departments Minimum requirements include: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; minimum of 18 years of age Ability to read and speak English and Spanish preferred Ability to understand and follow instructions in both English and Spanish preferred Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group situations with directors, managers, customers (both internal and external) and the general public Good interpersonal skills Takes responsibility for own actions Ability to work hours and days scheduled, including holidays and weekends Basic math skills and numerical recognition Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness Physical demands include: Stand and walk Use fingers and hands to handle or feel Reach with hands and arms; repetitive motion with arms and shoulders Carry, lift and/or move departmental products and merchandise Twist back and neck Use sense of smell Talk and hear Close vision and peripheral vision Push and pull carts of departmental products and merchandise Stoop or bend at the waist Crouch or bend at the knees Kneel Climb ladder or step stool Balance
