Job Title: Plumber Maintenance

Department: Facility Maintenance & Operations

Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced plumber to install, maintain and repair sanitation units, water, and gas supply lines, heating systems, and associated fixtures and appliances in residential, commercial, and industrial structures. You will also be required to design and inspect plumbing systems, perform diagnostics, and ensure they comply with regulatory codes. To be successful as a plumber, you should be able to work independently and solve problems as quickly and efficiently as possible. To excel in this position, you should have strong technical skills, be a master at troubleshooting and enjoy dealing with people.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Duties/Responsibilities:

Carry out regular maintenance of plumbing systems at site

Perform installation of plumbing systems at new properties

Inspect previously installed plumbing systems at commercial and residential sites

Perform any necessary repairs to previously installed systems

Answer calls for plumbing issues from general contractors

Keep up to date with current safety regulations and requirements for the various plumbing systems a company installs and maintains

Work carefully to follow all current regulations for plumbing work to ensure that all installed systems pass inspections

Communicate well with clients to ensure client satisfaction

Communicate well with team members and fellow employees

Manage a work log

Keep detailed reports of work done at various job sites

Provide information regarding plumbing system upkeep to clients

Required Skills/Abilities:

Proficient written and oral communication skills according to skill requirements

Ability to function well in a high‑paced and, at times, stressful environment

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Diagnose Plumbing and Piping Problems

Identify Problems

Accessing Confined Spaces

Applying adhesives, sealants, and caulk

Education and Experience:

Must be a licensed Journeyman with the ability to use and knowledge of all tools and equipment

Minimum of 5 years of experience, performing the specific craft function.

Expert knowledge of craft theory and craft materials with ability to apply the theory and select the proper materials.

Good working knowledge of water supply, heating, and ventilation systems. to perform maintenance on site utility systems and steam distribution systems, including air compressors and associated equipment.

Obtain and maintain required certifications.

Proficiency in reading blueprints and using plumbing tools

Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged period of standing, bending, reaching, and working with hands

Occasional periods of prolonged exposure to loud noises

Ability to lift up to 75 pounds at times

Ability to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands as necessary

Ability to hear and see to position and safety requirement levels

Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicals
