Maintenance Technician III

As a Maintenance Technician III, you will perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on automated conveyor and sortation systems in a high‑volume grocery fulfillment and distribution center. You will drive equipment reliability through preventive tasks, resolve failures promptly, support continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain base building systems.
Key Responsibilities
Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
Maintain and troubleshoot all conveyor systems, installing and maintaining relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, photo-eyes, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, etc.
Create, assign, and close out work orders with labor hours, parts used, and maintenance data.
Lead and audit preventive maintenance procedures and mentor junior technicians.
Maintain positive working relationships across the Operations facility.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
4+ years working with material handling equipment (MHE) such as automated conveyors and controls.
4+ years performing preventive maintenance.
4+ years reading blueprints and schematics.
3+ years with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
2+ years with programmable logic control (PLC) programs.
Experience in a team lead capacity supporting, training, and mentoring technicians.
Previous vendor management experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Ability to work a flexible schedule/shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or higher degree in mechanical or electrical field.
Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
Physical Demands
Reach overhead, kneel, squat, climb steps/ladders, use an aerial lift, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Wear appropriate PPE (hard hat, face mask, face shield, composite toe shoes).
Regularly crouch, bend, and reach to install/move equipment.
Move between departments, floors, and properties averaging 6–12 miles per day.
Work in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures.
Type on a computer for 1–2 hours per day.
