Project Scheduler – Heavy Fabrication & Industrial Operations (Norfolk, VA) Location: Norfolk, VA (office-based with time in fabrication/industrial environments)
About the Opportunity
We’re supporting a well-established heavy fabrication and industrial services organization operating within complex shipyard and industrial environments. Known for strong self-perform capabilities and long-term project delivery, the business continues to grow and is adding a Project Scheduler to support project management and production planning teams.
What You’ll Do
Develop, update, and manage detailed production schedules using MS Project and Primavera P6
Collaborate with Superintendents and Project Managers to track weekly progress and milestones
Monitor manpower, budget, productivity, and schedule performance across projects
Resource-load schedules based on bid data, production plans, and capacity forecasts
Create and maintain master schedules aligning operations, equipment, and facility usage
Analyze schedule impacts, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions
Prepare graphs, charts, and weekly schedule status reports for leadership
Support estimators with bid schedules and assist with planning activities as needed
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience in planning and scheduling fabrication or industrial projects
Strong proficiency with MS Project and Primavera P6
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and production specifications
Proven problem-solving skills in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities
