The Assistant Manager in Training is responsible for supporting their Studio Manager. These two positions work closely together to lead their store to success. The Assistant Manager in Training role is viewed as a future Studio Manager and should be filled by someone who has tangible passion for Great Big Game Show and the desire to become a Studio Manager in the next 6-18 months.
Expectations
Embodying our mission, vision, and values during every shift
Leading groups of 2-14 in fun, friendly conversation
Collecting information and making meaningful connections with guests
35-40 hours of work time in store each week unless otherwise specified in your individual offer letter. More or less required on occasion.
Ensuring operational excellence on shift by:
Ensuring studio components function properly
Using setup sheets to accurately reset studios
Cleaning games and the GBGS facility
Being timely and exemplifying excellent time management skills in order to stay on schedule for the games assigned to the host
Restocking inventory
Completing necessary reports
Using a company iPhone to record exciting guest moments during games, using an app to combine them into a 30-second highlight video, and sending to guests
Immediately and graciously resolving service failures
Ensuring each guest has a five-star experience and leaves happy
Supporting the Studio Manager in leading a team of 12-60 team members of all ages
Enthusiastically implementing new company initiatives, strategies, policies, and training programs
Assisting in operational excellence through upkeep of: apparel and products, game inventory, building maintenance, cash control systems, and shift schedules.
Requirements
Flexible availability. This role often works nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time (including 1 hour of running a game show, for a max of 4-5 shows per shift.)
Ability to engage in public speaking for extended periods of time (including 1 hour of running a game show, for a max of 4-5 shows per shift.)
Ability to improvise fun, appropriate, professional commentary to suit guests of all ages.
Proficient in reading, understanding, and memorizing Host scripts to deliver high-quality experiences as a GBGS Host
Excellent communication skills when speaking with our guests.
Must be able to handle physical activity as it relates to the job, such as deep cleaning, painting, standing, crawling, bending, lifting 30-40 lbs, and minor game repairs.
Quickly resetting numerous game components within specific time frames outlined in training.
Align with GBGS Uniform Standards (listed in the linked job description).
