Position Summary Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area. In addition, the position upholds the Judeo-Christian principles central to the YMCA mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the Y’s core values: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Starting Shift Times

Monday – Friday: 5:00 am

Saturday: 7:00 am

Sunday: 1:00 pm

Core Functions

Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the workplace and over the phone, contributing to member retention.

Conducts interviews and/or tours responsive to prospective members’ needs; sells memberships.

Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.

Handles and resolves membership concerns and reports unusual situations or unresolved issues to a supervisor.

Proficient in DAXKO operations, including membership and program registrations.

Proficient in Daxko Engage, logging conversations with members each shift, completing tasks, and other related actions.

Proficient in SmartStart scheduling.

Follows all Y policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as required.

Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities There are no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements Qualifications:

Applicants must be 17 years of age or older.

Education and/or Experience:

No specific educational requirements. The position requires excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills, the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community, and experience in multitasking.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and manage a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.

Work Environment:

May be exposed to outdoor weather. Noise level is moderate.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and perform basic multiplication and division, applying units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

Physical Demands:

Frequently required to talk or hear. Must stand, walk, sit, and use hands and fingers. Vision required: close, distant, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of members or employees.

New employee orientation is required.

Additional training, licenses, and courses may be required throughout employment.
