MD Logistics
SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair of machinery, buildings, and grounds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Repair and maintain conveyor systems in compliance with maintenance manuals, mechanical/electrical drawings (schematics) when available, and/or maintenance best practices/standards set forth by OSHA or MD Logistics.
Service, inspect, and perform preventative/predictive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic equipment within the facility deemed necessary or required by the MD Logistics Maintenance Department.
Erect, replace, dismantle, and/or maintain racking within facility when necessary.
Perform applicable routine service on batteries for all battery powered equipment, including watering down batteries on a set schedule, cleaning connections and other maintenance not required to be done by an outside vendor.
Service, repair, and/or maintain 120V and 480V (3 phase) power systems not required or needed to be worked on by outside vendor or electrician.
Service, repair, and/or maintain dock plates in facility when possible and not required or needed to be worked on by outside vendor.
Assist other departments during audits, validations, and PM work when needed or required.
Perform general cleanup of facility when required, including sweeping, floor scrubbing (Tennant Floor Scrubber), spot cleaning, etc.
Perform general facility maintenance including changing light bulbs (office pods, warehouse), replacing ceiling panels, assisting in set-up for company events or customer visits, and other general office maintenance deemed necessary.
When necessary, assist outside contractors during installation, start-up, validation, and/or audits of equipment and facility assets during projects or service work.
Assist in maintaining a record of spare parts inventory and company owned tools.
Keep maintenance areas clean and organized, as well as any and all maintenance carts being used.
Assure and maintain that all safety procedures, PPE, and policies are in place and followed at all times.
MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES Special Projects: Assist in company wide activities associated with the department.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, each individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Basic computer skills. Must have sound interpersonal skills and be able to work efficiently in a team. Preferred 2‑3 years experience in building maintenance. Proven ability to handle large volume of work, set priorities, multitask, and meet deadlines. Extremely detail oriented and performs accurate work. Forklift certified.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT (not limited to) Computer, forklift, double forklift, slip pack, pallet jack, motorized pallet jack, reach truck, floor scrubber, industrial and standard sweepers, shop vac, pressure washer, trash compactor and baler, digital multi‑meter, welders, blow torch, power tools, hand tools, micrometer, aerial lift.
PPE Gloves, safety goggles, hard hat (where necessary); hard shoes/boots or steel‑toed boots.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and correspondence. Effective communication/comprehension skills – verbal and written. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to physically count, add, subtract, multiply and divide.
REASONING ABILILTY Ability to define problems establishes facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

The employee may work in areas with slippery surfaces and may be exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee may also work in confined spaces on a regular basis. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
