Job Title: Machine Fabricator
The Machine Fabricator is required to support the Plant Manager by fabricating, assembling, and insulating machinery using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications. The position also involves repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, mechanical, and electrical systems on all production machines and equipment. The incumbent is expected to be a self‑starter, manage time well, work independently, and follow Altor Solutions’ safety and conduct standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Fabricate components using tools such as lathes, boring machines, mills, plate rollers, grinders, drill presses, and press brakes (experience on each tool is not required to start).
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, charts, and diagrams.
Use hoists, drills, hand tools, holding devices, cutters, power tools, and welding equipment.
Test run machines and observe machine operations.
Perform inspections, including pressure and flow tests.
Change worn machine accessories, such as cutting tools and brushes.
Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specifications.
Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
Responsible for general maintenance duties on building and machines; troubleshoot to determine requirements, follow job specifications, and complete paperwork.
Adhere to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout, and wear PPE properly.
Keep workstation area clean and free of dirt and debris; clean assigned areas as instructed.
Work assigned shifts, including overtime and after‑hour meetings, as needed.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1–3 years of experience preferred.
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate’s degree or technical certificate preferred.
Considerable knowledge of tools, materials, and methods.
Ability to work from drawings and manuals.
Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
Ability to use reasoning to solve problems.
Ability to get along with other employees and work well individually or on a team.
High attention to detail and self‑motivation skills.
