Who we are The City Clerk’s Office offers a wide range of services to the residents of Chandler and the surrounding communities. Election assistance and passport applications are just some of the services provided, along with a multitude of information and records regarding the City Code and City Council actions. The City Clerk’s Office preserves legal documents and is the source of information on City Council legislation and actions. The City Clerk’s Office conducts all municipal elections, assists the Mayor in administering the appointment of members to serve on various City boards and commissions, and provides services to the public including passport services, public records requests, and oversees Chandler's boards and commissions, and the Chandler Municipal Code and City Charter.
Who we’re looking for Our new Deputy City Clerk will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. The Deputy City Clerk will oversee the passport program as the program manager. Working alongside the City Clerk, the Deputy will provide leadership and assist with the variety of programs and processes that reside in the City Clerk’s Office. The new team member will need experience working with a municipality, elected officials, boards and commissions, and elections.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Government Studies, Public Administration or a related field
4 years of experience in a government office, including three (3) years of supervision, preferably in a municipal City Clerk's Office conducting municipal elections
Passport Acceptance Agent Designation within six (6) months of hire or promotion
Arizona Notary Public Certification within six (6) months of hire or promotion
Certified Municipal Clerk Designation within one (1) year; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work

The position is a regular full‑time position and is subject to a six (6) month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for four (4) months should another position become available.
