Job Summary The Senior Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials within the facility. This role serves as the lead cycle counter, ensuring accuracy across all material inventories. In addition to overseeing inventory counts, the position supports loading and unloading activities, performs data entry in ERP systems, and ensures timely and accurate shipping and receiving operations.
Job Responsibilities
Perform and oversee cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods; investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Analyze inventory variances, identify root causes, and collaborate with warehouse, production, and planning teams to implement corrective actions.
Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP/WMS system and ensure compliance with inventory control procedures and audit requirements.
Load, unload and move materials within or near plant, warehouse, storage facility or worksite.
Work with the team to improve current system, functions, and daily operations to more effectively meet goals
Maintain system critical data elements
May monitor shipping performance to Delivery Tracking Schedule (DTS) and ensure movement of product from production through packaging to shipping
Perform materials analysis and maintain records as required in support of cycle counting operations and performance measurement
Read work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved
Open containers using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools
Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools
Convey materials to or from storage or worksites to designated areas to include the manufacturing floor by use of hand truck, electric dolly, forklift, or other device
Count, weigh, and record materials moved or handled in an ERP system
Attach tags or label to materials or otherwise mark information
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Work under general supervision on duties and tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Deltek Costpoint
Inventory Cycle Counting
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Two or more years of experience
May require forklift certification
U.S. Citizenship required.
Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is $19.48/hour - $21.43/hour. The range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable).
