Provide direction to manufacturing personnel in order to meet quality, cost and delivery expectations of our customers as well as maintain a clean and organized working environment for our associates. The Process Technician/Lead will accomplish this by consistent application of company policies, procedures and guidelines, communicating manufacturing-related goals and objectives including quality, throughput, customer service, on-time delivery, as well as participation in on-the-job training for associates, disciplinary & attendance tracking. This position is responsible for molding plastic parts in accordance to company requirements and standards. This includes machine set-up, secondary equipment set-up and input process parameters. All associates are expected to perform all activities in a safe manner and to report any safety concerns or injuries immediately.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor & maintain people requirements/assignments for manufacturing personnel
Disposition of attendance & disciplinary issues
Communicate with & train production personnel regarding customer & company expectations
Facilitate the implementation of corrective action for non-complying products
Monitor/track SPC & quality reports for shift
Daily Shift Reporting
Review, analyze and implement corrective action related to daily manufacturing results
Provide direction and review performance of manufacturing personnel
Coordinate all manufacturing efforts to meet required production schedule
Monitor expense controls and implement corrective action as required
Maintain a clean and well-organized work environment
Manage the scheduled production at established efficiency and utilization standards and complete daily shift audits
Manage the material flow, inventory control, quality program, scrap, safety and cleanliness of the production floor
Manage and improve employee engagement
Maintain staff by interviewing, selecting, and overseeing training of associates
Conduct Performance Reviews
Resolve employee issues by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; and taking action as appropriate
Ensure operators document production by press for your shift and audit the previous shifts prior to entering data for IQMS
Set-up the injection mold presses and install molds according to specifications
Read specifications and set machine controls, regulating prescribed molding temperature, volume of plastic, molding time and pressure
Provide input of injection molding process and equipment for the reduction of defects, overall process improvement and the reduction of downtime
Inspect and evaluate parts for quality
Communicate and translate what is happening from a molding standpoint to engineers and management
Monitor and troubleshoot molding process; observe equipment and materials in process to analyze and determine cause of malfunctions
Make adjustments to equipment to obtain desired results
Responsible for machine start-ups
First response to all machine, robot, thermolater and secondary equipment alarms
Ensure machines and robots are running at optimum efficiency
Responsible for the accurate completion of Process Verification
Troubleshoot machine, mold and material problems
Provide mold and fixture preventative maintenance
Store and document molds and fixtures
Change mold inserts (as equipment requires)
Change secondary equipment inserts and nesting
Diagnose (troubleshoot) secondary equipment problems
Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude with co-workers, employer, customers and suppliers
Uphold a strong desire to learn new and changing technologies
Perform activities in a safe mannerMust know and properly use all aspects of the company LOTO program for an authorized employee
Must possess a Cinova Medical issued forklift license.
Must understand and be competent in all aspects of QS 9001 and ISO 13485 as it relates to the injection molding process and production activities
Must have acceptable attendance record
Ability to train subordinate(s)
Must attend all mandatory company meetings and safety education sessions
Perform any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
3-5 years experience in a plastics manufacturing environment
Experience in 5S, continuous improvement, and Lean Manufacturing processes
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully lead a team and resolve issues relating to personnel, quickly and efficiently
Exceptional communication skills
Organizational and time management skills
Working knowledge of various types of manufacturing machinery and tools
Proven problem solving abilities and critical thinking

Plastic Injection molding background with a minimum of three years of experience in plastics processing
A high level of ability to troubleshoot processing problems and make adjustments to make good parts is a requirement

Ability to multi-task, deliver and meet deadlines
Strong Mechanical Aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Effective oral and written communication with a wide variety of people
Understand and follow work rules
Reading, writing, and basic math functions, i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages
Education/Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques
Knowledge of quality systems and standards, including ISO-9001 and/or ISO-13485
Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance
Knowledge of computers and working within IQMS
3-5 years of plastic injection molding experience
Full understanding of injection molding and molding principals
Knowledge of computers and working within IQMS
Knowledge of injection molding process
Scientific molding experience is a plus
Language Ability Ability to read, write, understand and follow instructions in the English language.
