We are looking for a Part Time Night Auditor to join the team at
The Inn on Ferry Street . The Inn comprises 33 distinctive guest rooms across a collection of restored Victorian homes and carriage houses, offering an intimate, heritage‑rich experience in the heart of Detroit’s cultural center. Planned enhancements to the property will include a fine‑dining restaurant and courtyard, activation of flexible meeting spaces, art curation, curated micro‑retail, and expanded outdoor facilities. Completion of these upgrades is anticipated in late 2026.
The Night Auditor will be the main point of reference for all guests at The Inn on Ferry Street. Starting from before the arrival, a Night Auditor is the first contact guests have with the property, all the way through departure and follow‑up after a stay. Duties include:
Check‑in and Check‑out
Room Assignments
Coordination with Housekeeping and Maintenance for inventory management
Guest Requests Handling
Concierge
Complaints Handling
Cashiering and Billing tasks and procedures
Providing recommendations and guidance to guests
Maintenance and promotion of good communication with management and team members
Strict following of privacy and security rules regarding corporate and guest information
Embodiment of property and company goals, purpose, culture and role in the community
A successful candidate will display a friendly, courteous, but unassuming behavior. The ideal Night Auditor will discern the need for genuine and affable service and understand the importance of consistency, correctness and strategic business goals. They will be compliant with culture, bureaucracy and workload requirements, and will bring a spark of creativity to contribute to the guests’ experience and interaction with the community, co‑workers and the property.
Preferred Skills
Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, understanding, communicating and interacting in English through in‑person contact, e‑mail and phone. The tone should be positive, courteous, and genuine.
Previous hotel front‑desk experience desirable; bilingualism is a plus.
Ability to work flexibly over weekdays, weekends and holidays.
Working knowledge of computers and IT systems is essential.
Comfort in cash handling and credit card procedures.
Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds on occasion; able to stand, walk, and work on feet for extended periods.

Expected days: Monday and Tuesday, but flexible
