as a Truck Mechanic B – DC04 in Dunn, NC. This role is responsible for major repairs of transportation trucks, including engine, transmission, accident damage, and rear-end work. The position focuses on maintaining a functional and operational transportation fleet.
Responsibilities
Perform all major preventive maintenance, major component rebuilds, and read and interpret all shop material.
Repair all repairs and maintenance on refrigeration equipment as needed.
Repair major structural damage to trailer, refrigeration system, and engine components.
Perform welding functions as required.
Execute basic service line functions such as checking tire air pressure and changing lights.
Conduct minor tune-ups and preventive maintenance on brake systems and compressors.
Repair tractors (except rebuilds), warehouse equipment, and external engines.
Identify more efficient ways to perform job duties and recommend processes that reduce costs and improve labor productivity.
Ensure compliance with company standards for accuracy, safety, and productivity.
Qualifications
Commercial driver’s license and certified electrician’s (refrigeration) license required.
High school diploma.
Familiarity and experience in a transportation mechanical environment.
Physical Requirements
Reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 70 lbs.
Work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks).
Preferred Requirements
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with required tools.
Ability to analyze situations, identify problems, and implement solutions.
Meet production standards set by the company.
