Position Summary The primary role of the Modular Assembler is to perform duties required to facilitate the assembly and fabrication of modular components. This role includes constructing modules using conduit, insulation, sheet metal, and structural framing. Modular Assemblers will be required to work in a shop environment, operate a variety of hand and power tools, and follow all safety protocols and workplace procedures to ensure the delivery of high‑quality, precision‑built systems.

Role Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to meet project specifications

Measure, cut, and assemble modular framing and components

Assemble and install conduit, insulation, sheet metal, and structural elements

Join materials using screws, bolts, adhesives, and welding techniques

Measure, cut, or shape steel, wood, and other construction materials

Construct framing systems, interior partitions, and support structures

Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and trade‑specific machinery

Position and install parts and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, and hoists

Inspect and document product compliance and report defects

Maintain cleanliness and safety in the shop area

Accurately take measurements and calculate material needs

Perform equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance

Train new employees and support continuous improvement efforts

Interpret job orders and execute work instructions

Handle materials and track production metrics

Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

Post‑secondary training or technical certification is a plus

Hands‑on experience in fabrication, modular assembly, or construction

Ability to operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner

Effective communication and time‑management skills

Strong mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge

Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams

Knowledge of appropriate materials, fabrication methods, and safety practices

Ability to identify defects and maintain quality control

Ability to work independently and complete tasks on schedule

Familiarity with construction and fabrication techniques

Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a shop environment

Knowledge of First Aid, CPR, and hazard identification is a plus

Knowledge of workplace safety practices, PPE, and safe lifting procedures

Minimum Physical Requirements And Accountability

Work predominately inside and in dusty and noisy areas

Work in high places, tight places, and confined spaces

Climb, balance, squat, kneel, and crouch

Stand for long periods of time

Lift and carry 51 to 75 lbs. occasionally, 31 to 45 lbs. frequently, and up to 22 lbs. constantly

Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required (e.g. safety glasses, gloves, boots, etc.)

Regularly work near moving mechanical parts and in variable temperatures

Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry objects safely over time

Comply with all company policies and procedures

All employees are accountable for safety and empowered to stop work if unsafe conditions are present

RK employees and subcontractors are required to complete and maintain all safety and health training requirements including RK Orientation, shop‑specific orientation, CPR/First Aid/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Identification and Reporting, and OSHA 10
