Green Energy Biofuel (GEB) is looking for a hands‑on, detail‑driven Wastewater Batch Processing Operator to help keep our facility running safely, efficiently, and in full regulatory compliance. If you enjoy working with complex systems, solving problems on the fly, and being a key part of an industrial operation that supports sustainability, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do As a Wastewater Operator, you’ll be responsible for managing and operating our wastewater treatment processes from start to finish. Your work ensures that all wastewater is properly treated, documented, and discharged according to state and local regulations. We are currently working on permitting. This position will be responsible for establishing and managing the wastewater processing permitting process, including obtaining initial permits and maintaining them in good standing.
Key responsibilities include:
Operate wastewater batch processes in accordance with GEB SOPs and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for managing permitting processes, including applications, renewals, and agency coordination. Ensure all permits are maintained and adhered to.
Monitor control systems and treatment tanks to ensure proper operation.
Manage daily draining of wastewater tanks so only water reaches bulk storage prior to batch transfers.
Test wastewater quality before and after treatment to calculate and confirm proper treatment levels.
Safely handle and apply treatment chemicals.
Document batch details, run times, and results accurately.
Clean and maintain filter press and related equipment; operate a forklift with dump hopper to dispose of filter press cake.
Discharge treated wastewater in full compliance with regulations.
Identify and request needed chemicals and supplies.
Troubleshoot, service, and assist with repairs on filter presses, pumps, and screens.
Train and support new team members.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
What We’re Looking For
2+ years of wastewater system operation experience in an industrial setting (5+ years preferred).
Working knowledge of state and federal wastewater regulations.
Experience with wastewater systems, pumps, valves, generators, and sludge equipment preferred.
Physical/Chemical Wastewater Treatment Operator Certificate – Level D.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Ability to work hands‑on in an industrial environment, including standing for long periods, lifting and dragging heavy materials, climbing fixed ladders, and working in hot and foul‑smelling conditions.
Why Join GEB?
Be part of a company focused on responsible energy production and environmental stewardship.
Work in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.
Make a measurable impact every day—what you do truly matters.
Ready to put your skills to work and help keep GEB running clean and compliant? Apply today and join a team that values safety, expertise, and doing things the right way.
