Job Description The Screw Machine Operator will perform setup and operation of Acme and Davenport screw machines within the Screw Department. This role supports quality production through proper machine setup, tooling adjustments, and adherence to specifications. Candidates should be mechanically inclined and comfortable working in a hands‑on manufacturing environment focused on quality and continuous improvement.
Job Specifications
Set up and operate Acme and Davenport screw machines.
Load bar stock, fill fluids, and remove chips from machines.
Perform machine setup including tooling changes, tool sharpening, and tool adjustments to maintain conformance to specifications.
Ensure products meet quality specifications.
Assist other operators with tool changes, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
Support training of team members on screw machine operation and setup.
Required
Relevant work experience in maintenance, mechanic roles, automotive mechanics, or trade school completion.
Ability to perform standard math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Preferred Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use tools and machinery and adapt quickly to unfamiliar repairs.
Ability to apply standard math skills to make machine adjustments.
Strong reasoning and decision‑making skills to overcome production obstacles.
