The Mechanical Engineering Instrumentation and Test group is hiring an Engineering Technician – Level 3/4 at our Chandler, AZ location. This role will work directly with engineers, managers, and technicians from Mechanical and Energetics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Integration & Test, and Quality.
Essential Functions
Conduct vibration testing on various parts and subsystems on electrodynamic shaker tables.
Perform hands‑on test setup and instrumentation – mounting units on/off shaker tables and installing accelerometers.
Provide formal and informal status communications to direct manager, and to other leads and managers in other groups and departments as required.
Perform tabletop reviews.
Post‑process test data and provide input to test reports.
Support test equipment maintenance and maintain a clean/organized work environment.
Work in close collaboration with other technicians and engineers.
Basic Qualifications – Level 3
High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret Security clearance.
Experience with hand tools.
Able to work on‑site (not remote).
Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong communicator, and ownership of tasks and problems.
Basic Qualifications – Level 4
High school diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.
Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret Security clearance.
Experience with hand tools.
Able to work on‑site (not remote).
Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong communicator, and ownership of tasks and problems.
Preferred Qualifications
Active US DoD Secret Security clearance, or higher at the time of application.
Experience with environmental and/or vibration testing.
Experience with instrumentation and data logging equipment.
Experience in an aerospace environment.
Experience with pneumatic and/or ordnance testing.
Experience using Siemens NX to design parts and assemblies.
Experience using Teamcenter.
Salary Range Primary Level Salary Range: $57,500.00 – $95,900.00.
Secondary Level Salary Range: $68,300.00 – $113,900.00.
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long‑Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
