Overview The Machine Operator supports manufacturing operations by operating machines and equipment to produce standard or customized products. This role requires a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity while performing machine shop and press operations on third shift.

Job Specifications Primary Purpose Use machines and equipment to assist with manufacturing while performing specialized tasks to create and produce products.

Major Job Responsibilities

Perform typical machine shop and press operations.

Operate press production, braid winding, lathe, or crimping machines in accordance with established procedures.

Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, manufacturing drawings, bills of material, and written instructions.

Accurately record quantities of good and scrap parts produced.

Utilize hand tools such as handheld screwdrivers and drill guns.

Maintain inventory of product at workstations.

Perform quality checks to ensure products meet standards.

Identify and report product defects.

Operate equipment safely and efficiently.

Maintain safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping standards.

Maintain accurate and timely production data.Report safety problems, hazards, accidents, and near misses to management.

Adjust machine settings as needed to complete assigned tasks.

Properly use safety equipment and report issues with machine guarding, interlocks, or safety curtains.

Troubleshoot and resolve simple quality-related product issues.

Meet standards and tolerances.

Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Physical Demands

Regularly lift up to 30 pounds.

Perform repetitive tasks.

Manual dexterity to assemble parts accurately.

Understanding of MSDS and handling of hazardous materials.

Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Regular and reliable attendance required.

Ability to stand, sit, stoop, bend, and reach above shoulders up to 25% of the time.

Environmental, Visual, and Hearing Demands

Constant noise exposure.

Exposure to dust, grease, and oils.

Near and far vision required.

Hearing required; hearing aids permitted.

Education and Training Requirements

Ability to read and interpret tape measures or measuring devices.

Machine Operator experience preferred.

Basic reading and math skills.

Ability to speak and understand English.

Ability to follow directions.

Ability to use basic hand tools.

Ability to apply reasoning and problem-solving skills.
